Archer, Armstrong, Quantum, and Woody have finished their hobo adventure, now it is our turn to get in on the action as we discuss The Delinquents mini-series from Valiant Comics.
Two of us loved it! One of us hated it! That’s not really a surprise though.
We talk about some of the things that we either loved about this book, or we hated about this book: Ayn Rand, Libertarians, Texas, Organic Food, Intellectual Property and meat monsters.
No discussion about what makes The Delinquents great without talking about the art, the unique panel arrangement and layout, and how the book visually goes far beyond just depicting the characters actions. Kano does an incredible job on art chores, and we discuss what about the art we really responded to.
We’ve got a lot of favorite moments of the book, from the fights, to the car crawling up the mountain, Meat Storm, the build-your-own-climactic-battle, bathing pickup action, and revolving jail doors.
Also, a question from a listener prompts a lot of discussion about how Archer’s behavior in this book fits with the end of Archer & Armstrong.
Our discussion rolls into another discussion about team-ups in general. What we like, what we don’t like, some favorite team-ups, inter-company team-ups, and what team-up we would like to see in the future from Valiant Comics.
Also, some terrible team-ups.
