We examine the new Shadowman series in depth! Issues 1 through 5 are out as of this recording, so we take a good look at those. Plus, Exiles, Ultraverse, San Diego Comic-Con, Valiant Futures, and Kombucha brewing!
Sean has read Exiles! This is all San Diego Comic-Con’s fault, but we take an appropriate tangent into the world of Exiles, Ultraverse, ans All-New Exiles, and answer the question on all your minds: is it worse than Acclaim Comics? And if so, by how much?
San Diego Comic-Con has happened again for 2018, so Sean fills in Chiclo on what went down from a Valiant Fans perspective. We met a lot of the new blood at Valiant Comics, and a lot of the older blood that we havn’t met quite yet. We played poker, we talked about Valiant, and a good time was had.
Plus, what are the Magic Words to say about the Valiant Universe? Joe Illidge knows them. What may be instore for us in the future of Valiant? We make some speculation and ponder about the future of the stories coming our way, and what that might mean. Most of all though, we discuss the important question: is Valiant in good hands? (Spoiler: Yes. It seems to be.)
And hey! We talk about San Diego Comic-Con in general. Captain Press is reporting for duty.
OTV… What else could it stand for? We talk about some of the recent indie publishers that have our attention lately. We will sell out for PDF review copies!
For our main topic we discuss the recent Shadowman books, specifically issues 1 through 5 of the recently relaunched series. Shadowman doesn’t know much more than how to punch monsters, and that seems to be a liability in this series. Might we see some hints about how this story will evolve the character?
There are important things to discuss, such as the proper pronunciation of gris-gris and veve, and other voodooriffic words.
KombuchaKast. It’s our thing. We share recipes. Sorry.
Baron Samedi. What’s his deal? What’s his involvement with the story? We talk about what we know and Chiclo throws down the sense about what is going on.
Shadowman is dead. or maybe something else. He is falling through time, learning lessons, what do we make of what is happening in issues 4 and 5?
There are (supposedly) six Shadowmen. How many do we know, and how many holes in the timeline can we identify, and why do we always fight Nazis?
We talk through a lot in this episode, so let’s jump in!
