Eternal Warrior! December! Vs. Archer & Armstrong!

Posted by

The big announcement from Baltimore Comic Con was that Eternal Warrior will be returning, really returning to the Valiant Universe in December in Archer & Armstrong #5!

We’ve seen Gilad, the Eternal Warrior, a couple times before, very briefly in X-O Manowar #1, and then lying dead at the beginning of Archer & Armstrong #1 (apparently he was just mostly dead.

He doesn’t look too happy these days, in fact, he looks downright ferocious, and ready to split your head open with an axe.

Check out the announcement, and check out the cover artwork for Archer & Armstrong #5, which will have the Eternal Warriors first full, living appearance in the Valiant Universe.

This December, there will be no escaping the “Wrath of the Eternal Warrior”! Valiant is proud to announce the return of the Eternal Warrior, the immortal master of war and weaponry, in Archer & Armstrong #5-8 — an all-new arc by New York Times best-selling author Fred Van Lente (Amazing Spider-Man) and red-hot artist Emanuela Lupacchino (X-Factor)!

No one in the Valiant Universe is more dangerous or more experienced in the art of war than Gilad Anni-Padda, the undying Eternal Warrior. After thousands of years on the battlefield, he has become an unrelenting force of nature, capable of dismantling entire armies with little effort and less conscience. His brother Armstrong, on the other hand, likes to read poetry and drink beer. Maybe that’s why they had such a bad falling out? But now — after years apart — the Eternal Warrior has a mysterious new mission: destroy young Obadiah Archer, Armstrong’s best-est new buddy and teammate in the war against The Sect.

“Armstrong and Gilad just do not see eye-to-eye. They’re brothers, but their similarities end at genetics,” writer Fred Van Lente told USA Today.

“Gilad sees [immortality] as a duty to fight for right, Armstrong sees it as an opportunity to drink as much booze and spend as much time with as many beautiful ladies as he can — so this issue is mostly fists, minimal hugs. We’ll see if they can work things out before the four-issue arc ends.”

This December, the book that Boing Boing calls “fantabulous” slams into second gear – and Gilad’s fist and steel! Jump on board as the Eternal Warrior sets out on a merciless manhunt straight through the heart of the Valiant Universe, beginning in Archer & Armstrong #5 — featuring a standard cover by Patrick Zircher, a Pullbox Exclusive Variant by Doug Braithwaite and interlocking incentive variants by Emanuela Lupacchino!

I hate to be “that guy,” but they reversed his scars for some reason. They were flipped vertically in X-O Manowar #1 and in the FCBD preview book. Other than that, I’m excited for this!
