Armories, Dead Hand, and Robert Venditti

Posted by

OTVlogo3-200This OTV is full of discussion about the Armorines, what’s coming up in Dead Hand, plus a short conversation with Robert Venditti.

We talk about the character design of the Armorines, what we thought of how this new armor looks, some of the in-universe influences on the design, and compare this with the original Armorine uniforms from the Classic Valiant days.

We all agree that the end of this story, with the introduction of Harold “Gunny” Lewis, was great. We talk about that, what that might mean for the future of the Armorines characters, and references to the Classic Valiant days.

Peter Zahn is a terrible villain, and a terrible person. But is the new regime any better? Is this the last we’ve seen of him?

We discuss the shrinking mechanism of that one Armorine for far longer than we probably should. How does the shrinking work, what are the possible mechanisms, and what about trace elements in the body?

We also take a look at the flashback story with Aric and Deidre, in which we learn that the female Visigoths are just as deadly as the males.

In the background of this story, something else is going on, and we discuss why Aric may be floating away into space, and what all of the hints about Dead Hand mean, and what we may have to look forward to in the next X-O Manowar arc.

Also, a nice treat, we have a short interview with Robert Venditti recorded several months ago, where we discuss Ninjak, delicious fruits, lions, Transformers, and of course, V-Ditti’s wisdom about writing fantastic crossovers.
